Popular Dice Games

Dice games are one of the most popular attractions in many top casinos, yet for many online casino users, they remain something of a mystery. Popularized on film and television (who can forget that famous episode of ‘Friends’ where Monica gets on a winning streak) there are a large number of casino dice games that users can enjoy while enjoying the many delights of an online casino.

Under and Over Seven

Arguably the simplest of all casino dice games to understand. There are only three bets available and two odds to understand. Two dice are used and the player rolls the dice, betting on the outcome of the roll. They can select that the dice will roll over 7, which doubles their stake if successful, or under 7 which also doubles their stake if successful.

Alternatively, the player can bet on the total of the two die rolled being exactly 7, this pays odds of 5/1 (though some unscrupulous casinos offer odds of just 4/1).

Chuck-A-Luck

In this game, three dice are rolled and the player places a bet on any number from one to six. If the number they select comes up on one of the three dice, then the player is paid at odds of even money. If their number appears on two dice, they are paid out at 2/1, and on three dice the pay-out is 3/1.

This is a very simple and easy game to play, once known in England as Sweat Cloth but it simplicity does belie that it has a strong house edge of about 7.87 per cent and players should understand this before they start playing.

Craps

Craps is a very complex game to play, with a variety of different terminology, so we strongly advice any new player to read up about the game before playing to understand this new vocabulary as well as playing many games of craps for free in the free game area. This will allow you to quickly understand the game, which is often played at a very fast pace.

In essence, the game is simply a number of players betting on what outcome two dice thrown by another player, called the ‘shooter’. There are a variety of different bets available, each with a variety of odds and there is different terminology used to describe each outcome of the roll of the dice.

If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11, then they immediately win, this is called a ‘natural’, however if he rolls a 2,3 or 12, then he immediately loses and this is known as ‘craps’.

There are a wide number of other outcomes to bet on each roll, such as the total number of the die roll, the combination used to achieve each number (such as rolling two threes to get six, as opposed to a four and a two, or a five and a one).

Craps is a simple, fast-paced and fun game to play, but does require a little getting used to in terms of the best available and the terminology used.
