Sic Bo is a popular Chinese dice game that is starting to become increasingly popular in western casinos as well as many online casinos.
The games itself is very simple, players place betting chips on to the Sic Bo board and get paid based on the results of the 3 rolled dice.
Players should be careful about which bets they place on the Sic Bo board as they do not all have the same expectation. Read on to find out which bets we recommend and which bets should be avoided.
Types Of Sic Bo Bet
Small/Big Bets: A small bet is where players bet that the 3 dice add up to between 4 and 10. A large bet is where players bet that the 3 dice add up to between 11 and 17. The payout is 1 to 1. Players lose if any triples are rolled. The house edge is 2.78% on small/big bets.
Double Bets: Players bet that a particular double comes up. For example “Double Two”, this is paid out at 11 to 1.
Triple Bet: Triples happen very rarely. A triple bet is where you get all 3 dice show the same number. So for example “Triple One”. If you are lucky enough to win a triple bet, you will get paid out at 1 to 180. The odds of hitting a specific triple are 216 to 1, therefore the casino’s edge is huge on this bet. Players can also bet on “Any Triple” instead of a particular triple, the any triple bet pays out 31 to 1. This bet gives the casino a similarly large edge also.
Number Rolled Bet: Players can bet on what all 3 of the dice add up to. Be aware that different numbers payout different rates. So for example, betting on 17 pays out 62 to 1. Whereas betting on 10 pays out only 6 to 1. This is obviously because 10 is rolled much more frequently than 17.

There are no betting systems that will allow you to beat Sic Bo in the long run.
Different casinos have different payout tables. If you want to make alternative bets to the Big/Small bet we suggest you research the payout number and then compare it to the odds of that outcome coming up.
Some Sic Bo bets give the casino a shockingly large edge and should be avoided.
